Online couples counseling for parents in Marin County & throughout the Bay Area

Online couples counseling

The same intention.
A different way to meet.

I work exclusively online with parents in Marin County and throughout the Bay Area. Sessions offer dedicated time for your relationship, without adding a commute to an already full family schedule.

A personal note

I had my doubts, too.

For a long time, I refused to offer couples counseling online. I thought we would lose too much by not being in the same room, and I worried the work would be less effective.

Over time, better technology and the convenience for parents won me over. What really changed my mind was the work itself. I have found that online sessions can be just as powerful: we can notice what happens between you, slow down difficult moments, and create real opportunities for connection.

That does not mean everyone has to prefer it. If being in the same room as your therapist matters to you, that is a valid preference. My practice is now entirely online, so I would not be the right fit for someone seeking in-person appointments.

Making room for the work

A little preparation
helps you be present.

We will discuss the setup before we begin. The essentials are straightforward, and we can talk through what works for your household.

A PRIVATE SPACE

Time without interruptions.

Choose a place where you can speak freely and your children cannot overhear. Plan for childcare or another arrangement when needed.

A CLEAR CONNECTION

See and hear each other well.

A reliable internet connection, camera, and microphone help us stay engaged. We can discuss whether to join together or separately.

SPACE TO ARRIVE

A few minutes to settle.

Give yourselves time to put aside other tasks before the session and, when possible, a little breathing room afterward.

Practical questions

Before we begin.

Where do you offer counseling?
I serve parents in Marin County and throughout the Bay Area, with all sessions online. We will confirm your location and the suitability of online care before starting.
Do you offer any in-person sessions?
No. My counseling practice is entirely online. I understand that some couples prefer in-person care, and I respect that choice.
Is the first consultation together or separate?
Separate. I begin with one 20-minute consultation with you and one 20-minute consultation with your partner. Each of you has time to share your perspective and ask questions. These conversations also help me consider whether my approach is a good match for your needs.
Does my partner need to contact you too?
Each partner has their own initial conversation with me. Either of you can make the first inquiry. We can then arrange the two consultations; you do not need to submit your partner’s private details here.
What if one of us is unsure about counseling?
The initial conversations give each of you room to ask questions and talk about any hesitation. You do not need to have agreed on every problem or solution before reaching out.
What are your fees and scheduling options?
We will discuss current fees, session length, availability, and payment arrangements during the consultation, before we decide together whether to begin.
Is parent coaching the same as couples counseling?
They are different services. Couples counseling focuses on the relationship between partners. My Transformative Parenting coaching focuses on your relationship with your children and how you guide them. We can discuss which service fits your needs.
